As well as the 'big 5' events that happen each year, there are many smaller events that you can pop along to when you fancy it.

Members keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page - English Speaking Haarlem for specifics.

On the agenda for the next few months...we've got lots to keep you and your partner and the kids out of mischief.

01 June - Pizza and drinks at Stadsstrand de Oerkap 19.30 organised by Charlotte

10 June - Buggy friendly walk through the Dunes (meet at Panneland) 11.30 together with Emily

19 June - Netherlands v Scotland Cricket, VRA cricket ground 17.00 hosted by Leontina

06 July - Summer Drinks at Vooges Haarlem 20.00 hosted by Charlotte

08 July - 1 of the big 5, Summer Family fun party Speeltuin Jeugdland 15.30 team headed up by Vicci-Lee

12 July - Bootcamp with Run Academy, (see Facebook for more details)

23 July - 27 August - PLAYGROUP GOES ON TOUR

09 September - The Color Run in Utrecht, more details to follow

Date tbc September - Wine Tasting event

Then if that's not enough, the International playgroup usually held on Monday mornings at Speeltuin Klarenhof goes on a tour of child friendly venues over the Summer holidays.

Grab your swimming gear - if the weather holds out we'll see you at the beach! Keep an eye on Facebook for the plan!

We hope to meet you soon at one of the above.

If there's nothing that quite hits the spot, then feel free to organise something and we'll come to you!

Our traditional family Egg hunt was our busiest to date last weekend. Thanks to all of you for making the trek to Groenendaal Bos and of course for making it eggs-tra special bringing with you lovely baked goods to share! After a chilly start the sunshine came out to greet us as we hunted down as many sparkly eggs as we could pile in our baskets. Special thanks go to Lauren at Taste of Home - Haarlem for donating mini eggs for our prizewinners bag, additional eggs for the hunt and also to Casa Barista for supplying epic cups of coffee keeping us mums and dads on the go! Don’t forget there’s plenty going on over the next few months – keep an eye on Facebook for the updates. The next biggy is our family Summer party. Location will be shared in the coming weeks. See you soon!

Sunday April 14th 10am-12pm, Groenendaal Bos The sun is already shining in preparation and spring is well and truly here! In just 2 weeks we’ll be hunting down those shiny Easter eggs in our favourite woodland spot. There’ll be lots to keep us busy alongside the traditional hunt - so expect games with prizes, a fantastic coffee cart and home baked goodies. A Taste of Home - Haarlem have been very kind and will be donating some freebies too! Yum! Park in the main car park and follow the signs (think balloons, Easter bunnies, paper decorations and bunting)! Don’t forget: cash for your coffees, a basket or bag to stash your little one’s eggs and some home baking if you’d like to share. NB. Toilet facilities are a little limited as we’re in the woods!

We had such a great time at the wine-tasting event earlier this month and then again at the Halloween event last week. Thanks to all of you who helped out with the organisation and also those that came along to make our events so special. The fabulous 'Due Grappi' hosted our wine tasting evening. They supplied us with delicious food paired with our wine offerings. For those of you who haven't yet found their little hideaway - they are tucked away near Speeltuin Jeugdland and they even have a kinderhoek if you fancy a cheeky glass of wine or beer on a play date. (Great for rainy Autumn afternoons.) They were very hospitable and passionate about their products. Definitely worth checking out and listening to the story of how they set out to begin with. We'll be back for sure! It was so great to see so many of you dressed in your best spectacularly spooky costumes - thanks to the Kweekcafe for providing us with a space to get together. Congratulations go to Amy Perkins & Mai Van Gerven Hammad the winner & runner up for “Guess How Many?” Paul Tierney helped us again by lending us some Spooktacular decorations!! There was an amazing team behind the scenes who created the games & craft table, biked around town gathering goodies, helped set up & clean up...special thanks goes to Andrea Hamlett , Vicci-Lee Pearson (we are going to miss you), Abba Jwala , Helen Archer , Keara O'Brien , Stefanie Weber & Kate Inman , it was a pleasure working with you! We hope everyone had the best time and we're so happy we can celebrate Halloween here...it’s the best!! Still to come this autumn we have Friday drinks on November 2nd oganised by Stefanie at Brasserie Van Beinum , a 6km Dune walk on November 10th hosted by Emily and the Sinterklaas evening at the beginning of December. Keep an eye on Facebook for more details...
We’d love your feedback…
